Mandatory training requirements for Club Directors in NSW have been introduced as a part of the 1 July gaming reforms. By 30 June 2025 one of the following training requirements must be met by all Club Directors of venues with gaming machines in NSW:

·         Completion of the Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) and Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) training courses 

or

·         Completion of a Responsible Gambling Board Oversight (RGBO) training course approved by L&GNSW.

 

Responsible Gambling Board Oversight (RGBO) training

Completion of the Responsible Gambling Board Oversight (RGBO) training course approved by L&GNSW is a way for Club Directors of venues in NSW with gaming machines to meet gaming reform training requirements.


Austrain Academy (ATP Number: CCR10000005) is approved to deliver this course on behalf of L&GNSW. The course is a one-hour abridged version of the Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) course, equipping Club Directors with a high-level understanding of their venue’s responsibility to minimise gambling harm.


RGBO course delivery

L&GNSW Responsible Gambling Board Oversight (RGBO) training must:

·         be delivered in a classroom setting (face-to-face or virtual)

·         be delivered in a one-hour timeframe

·         meet the RGBO classroom delivery student size limits: face-to-face (25), virtual (20)

·         include the issuance of a course completion certificate and retained on file as evidence of completion.

Note: RGBO training does not include a NSW competency card endorsement, therefore ATP portal enrolment is not required. Club Directors are to retain their ATP-issued certificate as proof of training completion.


Requirements for Virtual Classroom course:

  • Ensure you have a device with a camera and microphone so you can participate in the training.
  • Be aware - the session will be recorded and used as evidence of attendance. You will need to have your camera on for the duration of the training.

  • You will be emailed a link to the Microsoft Teams meeting prior to the training commencement. Guidance if you don't have a teams account: click here

  • You will need Adobe Reader installed on your device so you can complete the PDF Assessment https://get.adobe.com/reader/

  • You must be able to read, speak and write English fluently in order to satisfy the course requirements.

Fees for training (GST Inclusive):

All fees must be paid prior to the issuance of any certificates. Full details of Austrain Academy payment and refund policies and procedures are available on the Austrain Academy website (www.austrainacademy.com.au), in your handbook or by contacting Austrain Academy office on 1300 20 40 20.
Austrain Academy reserves the right to cancel a course if there are insufficient participants enrolled. You may transfer courses, but will be subject to the difference between the course fees (if any). No subsidies or concessions are available for this training.

Non Accredited Training Acknowledgement:

Austrain Academy is an approved provider of these course on behalf of Liquor and Gaming NSW (L&GNSW). This training is non-accredited training and as such will not appear on your Unique Student Identifier (USI) Transcript. This training does not lead to a qualification within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Successful completion of this course will result in the award of a Certificate of Completion for RGBO. RGBO training does not include a NSW competency card endorsement.
